Solo developer Neema Iyer has revealed her first commercial game through indie studio stemtoto, Good Hands, which is scheduled to launch in Q1 2027 on PC via Steam. The production offers a cozy puzzle experience set in the vibrant world of Zimzemba, where small acts of care reveal a broader narrative about human connections and shared experiences.

The story follows Nia, a young girl who decides to help her elderly neighbor, Aunty Zubeida, restore an overgrown seaside garden. Activities include sorting, planting, pruning, and cleaning the space, while the daily lives of the two characters reveal themes related to family, migration, and resilience along the Swahili coast.

The project was designed to provide a calm and contemplative experience, encouraging players to slow down and pay attention to the sensory elements of the environment. The relationship between Nia and Zubeida is also used to explore connections between different generations and how simple acts of care can preserve memories, affection, and family stories.

Creative director Neema Iyer connects the game's development to her own journey and the lack of cultural representation she experienced during childhood. "Growing up playing video games, I never saw characters or cultures that spoke to my own childhood", says Iyer. "Developing Good Hands has been an incredibly fun experience, and I hope players get a taste of the joy and care that went into shaping Nia and Zubeida's world. This game is especially close to my heart because it speaks to my own story of migration and to the love and grief that persist across the miles."
