Kioku: Last Summer has launched its full version for PC via Steam, offering a relaxing adventure that combines open world exploration, summer activities, collectibles, and interactions with a vibrant community. Developed by Lugn Games in partnership with Assemble Entertainment, the game introduces Asti during her first summer in a new home, inviting players to uncover the secrets of Kioku Island while creating memories through small discoveries and everyday experiences.

The adventure takes place on an open island filled with alternative routes, hidden locations, and points of interest spread across diverse regions. The experience emphasizes freedom of exploration, allowing each discovery to unfold naturally, whether while traveling through the town streets, crossing the pier, or following trails that lead to more remote and mysterious areas.

Asti's bicycle plays an important role throughout the journey, serving as the main way to travel across the island's many environments. By venturing down new paths, players can uncover shortcuts, reveal secrets, and access areas that expand their understanding of both the island and its inhabitants.

Among the available activities is fishing, which allows players to catch different species and collect crabs throughout the summer days. The system serves as one of the adventure's progression mechanics, encouraging visits to different locations and rewarding curiosity with new additions to the collection.

Another standout feature is the Marubi, collectible creatures found in packs scattered across the island. As new companions are discovered, players can build teams and challenge local residents in friendly battles, adding a layer of strategy and collection mechanics that complements the game's other activities.

Building relationships with the residents of Kioku is also a significant part of the experience. By helping locals with their tasks and participating in their daily routines, new stories gradually become available, strengthening community ties and revealing more about life on the island.

Progressing these relationships also unlocks new events, locations, and opportunities for exploration. In this way, social interactions become directly connected to the adventure's progression, encouraging players to get to know each character they encounter along the way.

Another feature included in the game is a photography system that allows players to capture special moments throughout their journey. These images serve as lasting memories of the experiences gathered during the summer, reinforcing the nostalgic atmosphere that defines the overall adventure.

Visually, the project embraces an art direction inspired by the Japandi style, blending aesthetic influences from Japan and Scandinavia. With cozy environments, freeform exploration, and a wide variety of activities, the release aims to deliver an experience centered on discovery, reflection, and the memories created during an unforgettable season on the island.
