Point N' Sheep has released a demo of Laser Guy on Steam, accompanied by a new trailer that showcases the premise of the comedic anti-shooter twin-stick title, which is scheduled for release in 2027. The game puts players in control of a stressed developer whose anxiety triggers uncontrollable laser beams inside chaotic offices. The objective is to navigate the environments, solve puzzles, and reach safe areas without hitting anyone along the way.
The gameplay combines twin-stick movement and aiming with situations that require precise control over the laser shots. Players must direct the beams away from their colleagues, use furniture as cover, reflect lasers off mirrors, and activate devices powered by the beams to progress through the environments.
The environments are designed to turn the protagonist's destructive power into a problem-solving tool. Each room presents obstacles and mechanisms that require planning, while accidentally hitting a colleague can end the attempt and force players to restart the challenge.
The premise also uses humor to explore the pressure of working in game development, placing the protagonist in increasingly absurd situations while trying to control the effects of his anxiety. The combination of cramped offices, environmental hazards, and unpredictable lasers establishes the comedic tone of the experience, summed up by the studio's own provocation: "Because in this industry, you always risk getting burned."
