Blizzard Entertainment has announced a special collaboration that brings together the world of Overwatch 2 with NBA star Luka Dončić, also known as “Sharpshooter 77.” In addition to being one of the biggest names in basketball, Luka is a dedicated player of Blizzard’s title and has already reached the Grandmaster rank. Since the launch of the new Stadium Mode, he has been honing his skills and climbed into the Top 500 in North America, proving his competitiveness both on the court and in the digital arena.

"Many people have seen how competitive I am on the basketball court, but not everyone knows that I’m just as competitive in Overwatch," said Luka Doncic. "I love this game and I’m really excited about this collaboration. It’s great to be in the game in a way that other players can enjoy as well."

In the content inspired by “Sharpshooter 77,” players will gain access to exclusive items, including a themed title, a giveaway of 77 Loot Boxes, a golden basketball-shaped weapon charm with Luka’s jersey number, and a special spray. Additionally, Stadium heroes will feature new tactics inspired by his style, such as “Luka’s Magic” for Cassidy, “Lúcio’s Dunk,” and “Bouncing Zarya.”

The collaboration arrives at a time of renewal, as Season 18 kicked off on August 26 with the debut of the aquatic support hero Wuyang, alongside more than 60 gameplay improvements. These additions reinforce Blizzard’s commitment to expanding possibilities for both veteran and new players.

Among the updated content, the Stadium roster has been expanded with Winston, Pharah, and Brigitte, along with new maps and the D.Va All-Star skin. Mid-season, Tracer will also join the mode, further broadening gameplay options.

Matchmaking systems have also been reimagined. Quick Play now features a best-of-five casual mode, delivering fast and thrilling matches, while the new Payload Race Mode challenges teams to simultaneously escort their payloads while defending their own. Meanwhile, Draft Mode introduces bans, role-based pick orders, and eliminates mirror matchups, offering strategic variety and deeper competitive play.
