Aya Games has confirmed that Ayasa: Shadows of Silence, its surreal narrative platformer adventure, will officially launch on September 25 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. To mark the date, the studio has unveiled a new trailer, inviting players into a dreamlike journey through conscience, shadow, and choice.
The work is a dark, dialogue-free fable told entirely through pantomime, imagery, and Komitas-inspired music. The title draws influence from the philosophical worlds of René Laloux, the metamorphic allegories of Robert Sahakyants, the poetic touch of Hayao Miyazaki, and the dark surreal visual language of Tim Burton. In this setting, players follow Ayasa across fractured lands where forces such as Love, Faith, and Hope clash with Greed, Betrayal, and Indifference.
Each realm represents a distinct moral force, both light and shadow, challenging players to decide whether the journey will lead to balance and redemption or to downfall and tyranny. The 2.5D experience blends atmospheric exploration, puzzle-solving, and survival sequences, always unfolding a story told without words.
To face the dangers ahead, Ayasa wields special abilities that allow her to manipulate time, turn invisible, and control energy. These powers are key to overcoming obstacles, escaping deadly encounters, and unlocking hidden paths, gradually revealing the secrets of the narrative.
According to Edgar Janoyan, CEO of Aya Games, the vision behind the project goes beyond a simple dark tale: "This is not just a story about war, it is a poetic journey through conscience, where the greatest battle lies within."
Highlights include the absence of dialogue replaced by pantomime and music, the exploration of worlds shaped by contrasting moral forces, and the choices that directly shape the protagonist’s destiny. Multiple endings unfold, giving players the responsibility of defining the outcome of the story.
The result is an adventure that blends visual poetry, a melancholic atmosphere, and interactivity. With its unique proposal, the project promises an experience that distances itself from traditional conventions and reinforces the idea that games can be as expressive as literature and cinema.
