Ghetto Zombies: Graffiti Squad will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 on August 27. After debuting exclusively on Xbox consoles and Steam earlier this year, the pixel art shooter developed by the Brazilian studio Fogo Games and published by Nuntius Games is expanding its availability to additional platforms.
Inspired by classic top down action shooters such as Zombies Ate My Neighbors, the title combines fast paced combat against hordes of the undead with a visual identity deeply influenced by Brazilian urban culture. The experience places the neighborhood at the center of the resistance against the zombie invasion.
One of the game's defining features is its graffiti system. Painting walls is an essential part of the campaign's progression, but every completed mural immediately attracts another wave of zombies. At the end of these encounters, a powerful boss appears, challenging players to rely on strategy and improvisation.
Players can choose from four young mutants, Vini, Kath, Fabão, and Duda, each offering a distinct combat style, unique abilities, and different upgrade paths for weapons and skills throughout the adventure.
The arsenal features more than 70 weapons spread across six categories. Among them are a shark shaped shotgun, a ketchup blaster, a witch broom, an explosive spray, a magical scepter, and even a gumdrop shooting weapon, providing a wide variety of ways to deal with the undead.
The colorful pixel art presentation places artistic expression at the heart of the experience, with graffiti serving as both a gameplay mechanic and a core element of the game's visual identity.
In addition to its four chapter campaign, players will have access to a training room featuring endless rounds and random enemies, allowing them to experiment with weapons, upgrades, and strategies before taking on the main challenges.
