S-GAME, the team behind Phantom Blade Zero, unveiled a new trailer during The Game Awards, alongside the official release date announcement. The footage revealed, for the first time, new story moments, previously unseen enemies, and a variety of weapons, reinforcing its proposal to merge Wuxia narrative with intense action powered by Unreal Engine 5. The worldwide release is set for September 9, 2026, with confirmed versions for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Epic Games Store.

In the story, players take on the role of Soul, a warrior who has only sixty-six days left to live in order to defeat assassins, unravel dangerous conspiracies, and defend his own values. Falsely accused of his master’s murder, he is hunted by former companions while traversing a world shaped by unstable loyalties and silent blades, determined to uncover the truth behind the conspiracy that condemned him.

The narrative unfolds with a tragic and poetic tone, where rain blends with blood and mercy intertwines with vengeance. Soul’s journey is driven by love, hatred, and the fragile pursuit of his heart’s desires, leading players through shifting realities, echoes of forgotten memories, upgrades, and encounters with powerful beings.

A rumor, a story, or a whisper can be the key to unraveling a greater mystery. Every trace serves as a clue, guiding players through a web of intrigue and lies, reinforcing the idea that a fighter’s true worth lies in their weapons and in the choices made along the way.

The combat system offers depth and variety, featuring more than thirty weapons and over twenty exclusive "Phantom Edges," allowing players to adapt to different playstyles. By defeating powerful enemies, it is possible to claim their weapons and personal techniques, expanding the arsenal and strengthening the protagonist for the challenges ahead.

Inspired by the Golden Age of Hong Kong action films, the presented universe blends martial arts with machinery in thrilling steel-on-steel battles. Ancient laws meet iron and smoke, while tradition pulses with a modern rhythm, giving rise to a new style born from the fusion of different media and influences, known as kungfupunk.

Developed with Unreal Engine 5 and cutting-edge motion capture technology, Phantom Blade Zero translates strikes and stances inspired by real martial arts techniques into a contemporary cinematic language. The result is Chinese kung fu reinvented for a new generation, preserving its classic essence while projecting it into the future.
