Video game publisher Templar Media announced the strategic acquisition of Norwegian studio Bible X, responsible for the highly anticipated time travel action adventure game Gate Zero. The partnership secures the long term future of the intellectual property and expands the project’s reach to a global audience, including recently confirmed plans to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
According to the company, the deal represents an important step in strengthening the studio’s creative vision and ensuring the resources needed to expand the proposed experience. John Gibson, CEO and founder of Templar Media, highlighted his confidence in the project’s potential by stating, "From the moment we saw Gate Zero, we knew it had enormous potential as a high quality game that was being created for a massive, yet underserved gaming audience." He added by emphasizing the company’s philosophy, "With this acquisition we can now apply the full experience, support and resources of Templar Media into creating the incredible 'Entertainment First' experience that gamers worldwide have been asking for."
The acquisition marks a cornerstone investment for the new publisher founded by Gibson, a 25 year games industry veteran. The "Entertainment First!" philosophy is central to the company’s mission, which aims to bring strong and accessible experiences to market while supporting projects with a clear narrative identity and global appeal.
For Bible X, the agreement represents stability and strategic support to realize an ambitious vision. Arve Solli, studio head, explained the importance of the moment by stating, "Templar Media gives us the stability and strategic support to fulfill our original vision and expand on it." He further reinforced the creative purpose of the project by saying, "Our goal from the very beginning of the project has been to take players on a fun and engaging journey back in time, allowing them to experience firsthand the events of the Bible during one of the most pivotal and significant moments in history."
Solli also highlighted the growing interest in faith based content and the relevance of this scenario for the entertainment market. In his view, "As proven by the commercial success of TV and movies like The Chosen and The King of Kings, there's a massive audience seeking top tier content that explores their values." He added, "With Gate Zero, we plan to meet that demand with a full featured, story rich video game that allows the player to explore the history and stories found in the Bible, in a grounded and historically accurate way."
The studio had already demonstrated its creative potential through a successful Kickstarter campaign, which reached 100 percent of its 200 thousand euro goal in just 79 hours, signaling strong audience interest. The proposal takes players on a narrative driven journey through the biblical past, featuring missions, escapes, and the task of uncovering and restoring the true version of history, reinforcing the ambition to deliver a rich and engaging experience.
