Studio Wildcard announced that Valguero Ascended, the fully remastered version of the fan-favorite ARK: Survival Evolved expansion map, is now available for free in ARK: Survival Ascended. The reimagined experience transports players to an untamed world where survival takes on a new meaning, blending medieval legend with ancient memory across breathtaking biomes filled with secrets and dangers.

In this renewed land, the environment itself tells stories of time and decay. Rolling highlands, massive White Cliffs, and crumbling ruins now reclaimed by nature form the backdrop for new adventures. Every valley and ridge hides traces of the past, creating a haunting beauty that invites exploration and tests endurance in equal measure.

A fearsome new apex predator, the Megaraptor, now roams these lands. Winner of a community creature vote, this cunning hunter brings fresh challenges for survivors, combining agility and precision to stalk prey with ruthless intent. It joins the iconic Deinonychus, the cliff-leaping predator whose lethal claws make it one of the most dangerous creatures in the region.

The update also introduces Fantastic Tames: Elderclaw, a mystical guardian born from the heart of the forest. Both protector and predator, the Elderclaw embodies nature’s primal strength and balance, standing as a powerful new ally for survivors. Those who own the Lost Colony: Expansion Pass can access this creature immediately, while others will be able to obtain it separately beginning in January.

Lost Colony marks a new chapter for the franchise, offering the first all-original adventure for ARK: Survival Ascended. Set in a frozen world where the boundaries between myth and survival blur, players follow Mei Yin, voiced by Michelle Yeoh in ARK: The Animated Series, on a soul-searching journey through the heart of darkness to uncover truths buried deep within ARK’s past.

The remastered map offers over 63 kilometers of terrain and sea, featuring ten biomes that range from glowing tundras and dense jungles to luminous ocean depths and the shadowed expanse of the Aberration Trench. Each region introduces unique survival challenges and atmospheric storytelling, pushing players to adapt and evolve in a living, breathing ecosystem.

Alongside the visual and content overhaul, performance has also been enhanced. The game now runs more smoothly across a wider range of hardware, from NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1080 series to handheld systems such as Steam Deck and ROG Ally X. This ensures that the world’s grandeur can be experienced anywhere, without sacrificing depth or immersion.
