Solo developer Jinjja has announced his first commercial project, Yuzutsu, a 2.5D action puzzle game scheduled to launch on PC via Steam in 2027. The production is built around confrontations that do not rely on brute force, allowing players to master an ancient technique that lets them swap places with enemies, hazards, and elements of the environment to create different solutions during battles.

The adventure follows Taomaru, a capybara monk, on a journey featuring samurai, ninjas, snow monkeys, and hot springs, as the protagonist moves through dangerous situations with a laid-back attitude. The position-swapping mechanic allows players to manipulate enemy attacks and movements, turning threats into opportunities and expanding strategic possibilities through a simple concept with varied consequences.

The project was inspired by videos of capybaras and snow monkeys relaxing in hot springs, an experience that eventually led to its central concept. "Yuzutsu started when I came across videos of capybaras and snow monkeys relaxing in hot springs, and somehow that small inspiration sparked an entire game in my mind.", said Jook, founder and game director. According to him, the goal was also to create an experience built around an unusual yet familiar gameplay concept, supported by characters capable of winning over audiences.

The project also marks Jook's first commercial production, with the developer highlighting the contribution of other professionals in transforming his idea into a complete game. "I wanted to create a gameplay concept that felt unusual but familiar and surround it with characters that people could fall in love with. I couldn't have brought this vision to life without the incredibly talented people who have worked alongside me so far. As my first commercial project, it's surreal knowing that Yuzutsu existed only in my imagination earlier this year, and now I'm finally getting to reveal and share a piece of my inner world with everyone.", said the founder and game director.
