The highly anticipated MMORPG Chrono Odyssey is entering a crucial new chapter in its development. Kakao Games and Chrono Studio have officially announced that sign-ups are now open for the game's closed beta, which is set to begin this June exclusively on PC via Steam. Even before the formal announcement, the project had already drawn over 400,000 eager fans through word of mouth alone.

This public playtest marks a major milestone on the road to the full release, planned for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Promising an immersive experience powered by cutting-edge technology, the title aims to become one of the genre’s standout releases in the coming years.

"Chrono Odyssey represents years of passion and innovation," said Sangtae Yoon, Executive Producer at Chrono Studio. "This closed beta is our invitation to players around the world to help shape the future of this ambitious project. We can't wait to play alongside you, experience the story, and hear your thoughts about the game."

Set in the fractured realm of Setera, the game casts players as Sentinels—fighters with time-manipulating abilities—who must battle divine forces and cosmic horrors threatening all of existence. Beta participants will explore a carefully curated slice of this universe, including early story quests and one explorable region.

A major highlight of the beta is the dynamic combat system, which revolves around time-based mechanics like “Rewind” and “Freeze.” These allow players to avoid lethal blows, chain together creative combos, and outmaneuver opponents. Three classes will be available: Swordsman, Ranger, and Berserker—each featuring unique skill trees and adaptable playstyles.

Beyond combat, the beta introduces a seamless open world built in Unreal Engine 5. Players can expect real-time weather and day-night cycles, along with terrain altered by temporal rifts. “With the power of next-gen technology, we’ve achieved near-instant transitions between regions and cinematic visuals that deepen player immersion,” the team shared.

Access to the closed beta can now be requested through the game’s official Steam page. This is a rare opportunity for players to directly influence development, offer valuable feedback, and help refine the experience ahead of the full launch.
