Developed by Rear Admiral Games, Culture Warz: Tactics is a turn-based strategy and tactical game featuring 3D environments and a humorous, satirical approach to the influence of social media on society. Its story revolves around a global conspiracy that has transformed almost the entire population into mindless NPCs, trapped in a cycle of repeating generic opinions and absurd trends. In this scenario, players take command of the Chads, a resistance group made up of the last individuals capable of independent thought, tasked with confronting the threat and preventing humanity from falling under the control of a collective mind.
The gameplay combines grid-based movement with combat encounters that function as tactical puzzles, requiring careful planning to position squad members, take advantage of environmental elements, and make effective use of their abilities. Across 45 handcrafted levels, players must protect signal blockers known as Jammers, essential structures that prevent the spread of the influence controlling the NPCs. Battles also demand constant adaptation when facing more than 30 enemy types and eight bosses, each requiring different strategic approaches.
The combat system features more than 20 firearms and melee weapons, alongside the ability to recruit 11 unique characters, each with their own abilities. Squad members can level up, improve their special skills, and acquire new equipment to tackle increasingly complex challenges. Another key mechanic is the rewind system, which allows players to undo mistakes and experiment with different strategies without having to restart an entire level.
The campaign takes players through several environments affected by the conspiracy, including a zoo, a museum, and other locations, before reaching Facepalm Tower, the setting for the final confrontation. In addition to the single-player progression, the game will also feature online leaderboards, allowing players to compare their tactical performance with others.
With no release date announced yet, Culture Warz: Tactics is already available to add to wishlists on Steam.
