Set in a future where humanity lives under a world government established after the end of the Great War, Kat Domino: Agent of S.H.E.L.L. is an investigative adventure that combines comic book aesthetics, a noir atmosphere, and sharp humor. Developed by Evil Axis Game Studio, the game takes place 25 years after a conflict that led to the disappearance of former nations and the creation of a centralized power structure responsible for maintaining global stability. In this setting, S.H.E.L.L. operates as an international investigative and control agency, working from a massive underwater facility and exerting influence over different aspects of society in the name of peace.

The protagonist is Kat Domino, Special Agent No. 98 and head of the Department of Anomalies, a low-ranking division within the organization responsible for investigating unusual occurrences and cases that other departments would rather ignore. Her assignments include reports of unexplained phenomena, missing documents, unknown facilities, and theories about clandestine organizations supposedly operating beyond the agency's reach. Although many of these incidents initially seem absurd, some may conceal information capable of challenging the very structure that keeps the world under control.

The gameplay follows the tradition of classic point-and-click adventures, combining environmental exploration, evidence gathering, interrogations, and logical puzzle-solving. Across eight levels, players must examine situations, connect clues, and interact with characters whose distinct personalities are reflected in dialogue filled with irony and double entendres. Choices also play an important role in the investigation, allowing players to shape the protagonist's investigative profile and influence how she interprets events and approaches her assignments.

The narrative explores the contrast between the apparent security provided by S.H.E.L.L. and the secrets hidden beneath its power structure. Conspiracies involving the so-called Shadow Army, historical records of supposedly legendary species, and events that officially never happened drive a story in which distinguishing facts from unlikely theories becomes part of the job. In this context, Kat's seemingly insignificant position within the organization may lead her to discoveries far greater than the routine investigations handled by her department would suggest.
