Independent studio RibCage Games has released a brand-new demo and gameplay trailer for Alpha Nomos, its upcoming rhythm-action roguelite in which music drives both combat and progression. Available now on PC via Steam, the demo features expanded levels, new progression systems, refined combat mechanics, and a dynamic soundtrack that evolves with each run.

Set in a world devastated by a mysterious force known as the Alpha Nomos, the game follows Cello, a fighter navigating a post-apocalyptic landscape overrun by corrupted puppets. Her arsenal is made entirely of musical instruments, turning every encounter into a rhythm-driven battle where attacks, enemy patterns, and environmental reactions are directly tied to the beat.

The core concept revolves around synchronization, requiring players to attack, dodge, and build momentum in time with the soundtrack, creating a seamless flow between music and action. Missing the beat means facing resistance from the world itself, while staying on rhythm allows every move to fall perfectly into place.

The demo introduces new arenas, a branching upgrade evolution system, and deeper narrative elements that unfold between runs. As players progress, the soundtrack evolves alongside them, adding musical layers and rhythmic variations that reflect weapon choices, upgrades, and combat style.

"In Alpha Nomos, the music isn't just playing in the background - it's the rule that governs the entire world. Every weapon has its own sound, every upgrade changes the music, and every run becomes its own composition'' said RibCage Games.

Inspired by titles such as Hi-Fi Rush, BPM Bullets Per Minute, and Crypt of the NecroDancer, the game blends beat-driven combat with roguelite replayability, while also presenting a distinctive visual style built around abandoned circuses, corrupted toys, and music-reactive environments.

Among the demo highlights is the evolving upgrade system, where weapon enhancements branch into different musical and mechanical builds, altering both combat behavior and the soundtrack of each run.

Additionally, the rhythm-driven combat synchronizes attacks, enemy movements, and environmental interactions, while new levels and enemies expand the challenge with corrupted arenas, new obstacles, and more complex rhythmic encounters, reinforcing the musical identity of Cello’s instrument-based arsenal.
