The indie studio TORSHOCK announced that its first-person puzzle title, TOTAL RELOAD, is available with a 26% discount until February 26. TOTAL RELOAD was also included in the list of the top 100 indie games of 2025, according to users of the IndieDB website. The premise invites players to reflect on the possibility of starting over after a major disaster, placing them at the center of a colossal experiment gone wrong.

Throughout the experience, players find themselves inside an impressive large-scale mechanism, taking control of the body of a lonely Artificial Intelligence named HAWKING. Meanwhile, the AI’s mind remains independent and realizes that its body is now controlled by someone else, periodically communicating through text comments that appear on the screen. In certain locations, special symbols can be scanned in different sequences, allowing players to compose questions for the AI itself.

The narrative is presented in an unusual way and explores themes such as loneliness, self-imposed challenges, and the search for absolute universal knowledge. Beneath its science fiction surface, the story serves as a metaphor about the developers themselves, working alone to complete a difficult task and overcoming various intellectual obstacles. The game also includes references to real-life personalities, such as the songs of the rock band Muse and a book by author Robert Heinlein.

In terms of gameplay, the world consists of multiple locations connected by fast-travel devices called Quantum Transporters. Each area features different energy sources that must be combined into a single network using these transporters. Some of these energy sources are located in hard-to-reach places, requiring the strategic use of wires to temporarily supply power to moving platforms, sensor grids, energy filters, and closed doors.

Progression requires players to learn to think with wires, meaning they must understand that by temporarily powering different objects they can access previously unreachable areas and activate all the systems of this extraordinary mechanism, ultimately triggering the process known as TOTAL RELOAD.
