Eleven Puzzles has launched its newest cooperative title, Parallel Experiment, available on PC (Steam), iOS, and Android. The game offers a challenging escape room-style puzzle experience with a strong emphasis on communication and cooperation between two players. In the story, detectives Ally and Old Dog are captured by the enigmatic villain Cryptic Killer and trapped in a deadly experiment they can only escape by working together.
Inspired by noir stories and featuring hand-drawn comic book-style visuals, the adventure immerses players in stylish and atmospheric environments. The physical separation of characters is part of the challenge: each player holds only part of the clues and must rely on constant communication to progress. Interaction with NPCs also stands out through dynamic cooperative dialogues that provide hints and even additional puzzles to solve together.
With over 80 unique puzzles, the experience is designed to balance difficulty and fun. Challenges range from computer passwords and water flow redirection to deciphering cryptic ciphers, soldering circuits, and unusual interactions like waking up a drunk character. This mechanical variety aims to push the boundaries of traditional cooperative puzzle design.
Beyond the main puzzles, players can enjoy a series of retro-inspired mini-games reimagined for cooperative play. Classics such as tic-tac-toe, claw machine, and darts gain new interactive layers when played by two players. The game also includes comedic moments with features that allow players to annoy each other—like poking, screen shaking, or distracting their partner.
Another highlight is the freedom to sketch and take notes. Each player can write, draw, or map out ideas to solve puzzles using tools reminiscent of a detective’s notebook—or simply express creativity during lighthearted moments.
The main campaign is priced at $9.99 on PC and $6.99 on mobile devices, with a 20% launch discount available during the first two weeks. There is also a promotional Cryptic Killer Bundle that includes Unsolved Case and Unboxing the Cryptic Killer, offering an additional discount.
Cross-platform compatibility is ensured, allowing players on different devices to play together seamlessly. For console fans, a Nintendo Switch version is expected later this year. An intense, stylish, and surprising cooperative experience awaits players in Parallel Experiment.
