Cliffa Games has released Familiar Findings, a charming and cozy idle progression game with a touch of magic, in which players follow Avia, an aspiring mythozoologist, on her journey to write and complete a magical grimoire of witches’ familiars, exploring a relaxing universe designed to coexist with everyday activities.

Throughout the experience, players can summon familiars, collect mana and complete fusion spells to discover new combinations, constantly expanding the range of available creatures. From grumpy ghosts to sleepy dragons and elegant fantasy beings, the game presents a rich variety of unique companions, all illustrated with original hand drawn artwork.

The progression system stands out through experimentation, encouraging players to try different fusions to reveal exclusive color variants and higher rarities. Each familiar type features its own unique animations, as well as direct interactions that reinforce the feeling of constant companionship on the screen.

The title has also gained attention from the community during recent events, reflecting growing interest among players. “We have over 6000 wishlists on Steam, with lots of organic buzz among cozy streamers thanks to our successful NextFest demo.” The positive reception highlights the game’s appeal among content creators focused on calm and welcoming experiences.

Another core element is the codex system, which turns every new discovery into part of Avia’s research. By recording information, tracking progress and reading the character’s notes and reflections, players gradually move closer to completing the grimoire, creating a continuous sense of narrative advancement.

Designed not to get in the way, Familiar Findings keeps its familiars at the bottom of the screen without interfering with desktop use. The menu stays hidden when not in use, there are no distracting notifications and elements can be easily moved or resized, including a reduced opacity mode, ensuring a relaxing and functional experience while players focus on other tasks.

The captivating style, filled with adorable familiars, turns a casual game into a lively experience that brings the desktop to life. While playing, it sparked in me the desire to progress and complete the grimoire and, although it requires a certain level of patience, the lightness of the concept maintains a constant sense of relaxation. — Vinicius Melo, Editor-in-chief at Watermelo
