No More Robots and Breakpoint Games recently announced MANIFESTO, a new management simulator that tackles themes such as professional burnout, mass layoffs, and the obsessive pursuit of exorbitant profits, with a release planned for later this year. The premise places the player in charge of a company within an unforgiving market, where climbing the corporate ladder demands cold and often inhumane decisions.
After leaving countless competitors behind and proving the ability to survive in this hostile corporate environment, the player takes on a new venture in which emotions have no place. The objective becomes pleasing shareholders who are never truly satisfied, even if that means pushing ethical and human limits in the name of ever increasing financial results.
Gameplay revolves around hiring employees to fill every available desk and the constant need to boost sales. Players can move staff around, implement office upgrades, or extend working hours far beyond reasonable limits, always with profit as the sole priority. Employee well being is secondary, as workers are treated as disposable resources within the corporate logic presented by MANIFESTO.
To thrive in this inhumane business world, the player must manage the company through ethically questionable decisions, hire employees with different skill sets and exploit them for profit, optimize workflow while carefully considering employee placement, meet absurd sales targets within tight deadlines, unlock upgrades and stack effects to increase numbers and speed up sales, expand the company and level up whenever possible, and face unexpected situations that may hinder progress or even lead to bankruptcy.
“If you fail to meet our demands, all your employees will be fired. You will be fired. I will be fired. The company will be liquidated, and it will be the end for you.”
