Developed by the independent Ukrainian studio Yellow Fish Arts and released today on Steam, Missi puts players in the role of a brave little white mouse who must explore a magical world, gathering medicinal herbs to cure her sick child. The experience stands out for its rich, handcrafted visuals, featuring more than two thousand hand-drawn animation frames created through frame-by-frame animation, making the journey feel like a children's fairy tale coming to life on screen. The gameplay combines hidden object exploration and logical puzzle-solving with dialogue conveyed entirely through illustrations, eliminating the need for conventional text.

Throughout the adventure, the protagonist encounters magical creatures and inhabitants of a colorful world who offer assistance in finding objects and solving challenges. Among the situations players will face are bringing a dragon statue to life, brewing potions with a swamp witch, and helping characters in different locations, including an astronomer frog and a thirsty mandrake on Fish Island.

The puzzles feature varying levels of difficulty and require players to pay close attention to details scattered throughout the environments. To help solve these challenges, a sketchbook records events from previous adventures, serving as a visual reference for finding clues and connecting different events. Carefully exploring each location is also essential to uncovering details that might otherwise go unnoticed during a first visit.

The art direction uses watercolor aesthetics and hand-drawn illustrations to create a welcoming atmosphere, further enhanced by frame-by-frame animations that bring the characters and environments to life. The production of more than two thousand individual frames contributes to the feeling of following the pages of a children's storybook, with visual transitions that preserve the game's handcrafted identity.

Without combat or competitive elements, the experience prioritizes relaxed exploration and the discovery of the small secrets hidden throughout its fantastical world. With minimal text and dialogue presented through drawings, the adventure relies on visual communication to develop its situations and characters, making the narrative accessible without depending on lengthy conversations or explanations.
